The Audain Art Museum is a true standout not just for its impressive architecture, but for what’s inside. At this site, which is around 300 metres from Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre, you will find everything from 18th-century art to modern-day gems. Don’t miss the mesmerising masks from the Northwest Coast First Nations. Other highlights include Emily Carr’s evocative pieces and the intricately carved Dance Screen by James Har (Chief 7idansuu).
The Maury Young Arts Centre Gallery
The Maury Young Arts Centre is another of the Whistler tourist attractions, which also features a fascinating gallery. Here, you will find works from new and emerging artists from the region. Whether it’s bold paintings, delicate pottery, striking photography or inventive mixed media, you are in for a surprise. What’s more, you will find artwork for sale, so you can leave with a little piece of Whistler art too!
The Plaza Galleries
For art that mirrors Whistler itself, The Plaza Galleries is your spot. Since 1996, it’s been a hub for contemporary fine art, including creative works that showcase mountain landscapes, winter sports, and wildlife. Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre
Step into a world of cultural richness at the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre. This isn’t just an art gallery but a museum celebrating the rich heritage of the Squamish and Lil’wat Nations. Wander through sections which feature exhibits of impressive art, wool weavings, totem poles, baskets, drums, canoes and more. The gift shop is a gem too, perfect for picking up meaningful, handcrafted keepsakes
