Did you know that the tourism industry generated 10.3% of global GDP in 2019? The global industry has offered over 330 million jobs to individuals worldwide.

Every Sri Lankan who’s employed at hotels, airlines, or even transport agencies is directly or indirectly engaged in the travel and hospitality sector. This industry generated 4.3% of local GDP in 2019.
Hospitality sector- today
Needless to say, one of the most affected industries globally by the COVID 19 pandemic is the hospitality sector. Hotels, restaurants, and even airlines operate under strict health and safety guidelines. None of them operates at their full capacities.
Hospitality sector- tomorrow
Those who love travelling will soon start exploring other countries once the situation is under control. Concepts such as wellness tourism and Ayurvedic treatments will attract many foreigners to the country. This is why every hospitality management degree offered by institutes such as the Asian Institute of Hospitality Management will be more worthy for tomorrow, more than they are for today!
